"Ahh wee"

Wow, has it really been a month since my last post? I'm back to work now, so I'm finding less time to get on the computer. I haven't taken as many pictures in the last couple weeks, but I found a few to post that I like. So the boys are doing amazing. Kellen had his 2 month well check yesterday and he weighs 11lbs 10.5 oz! Thats about 40th percentile and about 9 oz less than his butterball brother was at his age! He is 23 inches long, which is 45th percentile and a little over an inch longer than Cole was. I invision Cole looking a lot like Justin as far as body type, and Kellen more like my brother. Cole was so well-behaved at the pediatrician and the nurse was nice enough to let him press the button on the scale while we were weighing Kellen. He thought he was so cool, and I think he would've stayed there all day and helped with that scale! Then Dr. Covington was his hero when she showed him the light on her scope and made it light up the tip of his finger. She was so patient with him when he wanted her to do it again like 10 times! He has a fascination with playing with my ring, and grabbed the doctors big fat diamond when she was assessing Kellen. Hey, at least he has good taste! Kellen is smiling and "talking" a lot more, and is even starting to let out a few short chuckles! His big dimples make me melt, and his eyelashes are on their way to competing with his brothers. They are already longer than mine...so unfair! Poor Kellen has taken on some nicknames already. I seem to call him "KK" or "Kell Kell" (Justin hates that one-he says it makes him sound like a girl). I dont particulartly like Kell Kell either, but it just comes out. I still say it's better than Justin calling him "K dog"...makes him sound like a rapper or something.

Cole continues to make us laugh every day. He loves to give his baby brother kisses and make funny noises and faces to make him smile. He uses new words every day and seems to really understand what is going on around him. It is so much fun to watch him figure things out. He was sitting in the front of the cart at Target the other day and we pulled up the the check out line and before I even started to unload the cart, he reached behind him and starting putting things on the belt. It was too cute! Then the best part was when he thanked the boy bagging our groceries without being prompted. He's quite the polite little boy...even saying "BEE SHOO" when Kellen sneezes, haha. We've started "time out" with him since he has definately learned how to push his boundaries, but it's so hard to keep a straight face because he is so darn funny. We keep him in his "time out spot" (there is one upstairs and one downstairs) for one minute and then make him say sorry and give us a hug (or Kellen if he is unfortunate enough to be the reason for the time out!). It sounds like "Ahh wee" but he actually says it like he means it and gives a nice big hug. He really doesnt understand the concept of the whole thing yet and smiles the whole time he is in time out, and finds it funny to run off his spot and be placed back...but I guess he'll get it someday! His most commonly punishable acts are hitting/kicking (not out of spite usually, more of an attention getter), throwing food off his tray, shaking the bouncy seat when Kellen is in it (can you say shaken baby syndrome!) and standing up backwards in his little rocking chair. Justin hasn't been the best with carrying through with discipline. He seems to have an excuse for Cole every time he does something wrong. Like "oh he didnt mean to hit me" or "that was an accident." I guess it's sweet in a way, but it makes me have to be the bad guy! I think I knew he wouldn't be much of a disciplinarian though! He's such a softy...I'm in real trouble if we ever have a little girl! Cole loves to "race" and can hardly stay upright while he's running because he's laughing so hard! We say "ready?" and he says "Weddyyyy" really high pitched and excited! I really wish I had these things on video that make me laugh so hard! He loves anything that involves danger, really. He cant get enough of being thrown in the air, spun in circles or slid across the hardwood floor on his back. We may have a dare devil on our hands. I'm nervous already!

Since I spent so much time talking about our new "time out" routine, I thought I'd throw this one in :-) This is after taking Kellen's paci from him after being told 3 times not to do it. He looked right at me and plucked it...ooh that boy can push my buttons!! But he's so darn cute, isnt he!! I got a very sweet "Ahhwee" and the longest hug I've gotten in a long time afterward.
