Emerald Isle 2012

This past weekend was our annual trip to Emerald Isle with my family.  We always have so much fun, and this year was no exception.  Relaxing and enjoying each others company was exactly what we needed.  The boys had just finished their week long sports camp at the YMCA on Friday and we drove down after that.  Justin wasn't able to join us until Saturday night because of work, but we were happy he was able to make it at all.  Unfortunately the weather was less than perfect this year, but we made the most of it with some relaxing in the cottage watching movies and playing water balloons in the yard between storms.  Thank goodness Suzi brought water balloons because they were a life saver and definitely good for a few laughs!

I did a terrible job getting pictures this year.  Basically all I got was the boys on the beach and the water balloon war!

The boys and my cousin Cassidy.  They think she hung the moon!

The war begins :) Reason #857 we love Suzi... she's so much fun!
 Pay back
The coolest toy- a canister with a straw and a spout for attaching balloon.  Pump the top and voila!

 Waiting patiently for more
Suzi was trying to teach Cole to toss it back and forth with her and whoever missed first would get the splash.
It was all going as planned until Cole got bored...
 And he nailed her ;-)
Kellen thought that was pretty funny... he wanted in on the sneak attack

Suzi was such a good sport.  :)

There was a huge drop off  leading up to the ocean this year because of all the beach restoration, so of course Kellen made it into an extreme sport with the help of his Daddy.

Making a dinosaur trail with Nina

I'm already looking forward to next year!

From babes to boys... no training wheels!!

We've been talking to Cole for about 6 months about taking his training wheels off.  Although he was very hesitant, Justin convinced him, and he is doing awesome!  We have a terrible yard and driveway for riding bikes, but we get out and practice when he's interested.
Oh, wait... did I mention that little brother doesn't tolerate being left behind?  Yea, his training wheels are off too!  3 and a half and off he goes!
Stopping has been interesting... Kellen prefers the abandon ship method of swinging a leg over and jumping.  We're working on that :-)

 PROUD :)

And as for me.... I'm pretty darn proud myself :)
