"Say WHAT??"
The other day the boys and I were headed out the door to the playground and when I asked Cole to put on his shoes, he replied with "Ok Mommy Princess." After the best smile I'd worn in awhile, I asked him where he got that from. This was his response...
"There is a picture of you in Nina's bonus room where you look like a princess, so I want to call you Mommy Princess."
It took me a few minutes but I remembered my bridal portrait is framed in my parents bonus room, and it was the sweetest thing I think I've ever been told :) Good GRAVY I love that little boy!

Halloween 2010
I know I'm a little late getting these pictures from Halloween posted (imagine that!), but better late than never I guess. First of all, I have to say how lucky we are to be raising our boys in such a wonderful, safe, kid-friendly, and FUN neighborhood. Although Justin and I were annoyed that Granville County mandated Saturday, October 30th as the offical night to trick-or-treat, we realized the kids didn't know any different so we might as well make the most of it. We started the afternoon with a birthday party for Coy and Carter, 2 of our friends in the neighborhood. I have to share a few pictures of some of the creative snack ideas Melissa, their mom, had at the party. I was totally impressed!

Who needs the sexy fireman calendar when you have him?!!!
Piling on the trailer for the hayride. Boys are right in center of picture. Wow they look they could be twins!

The boys playing with our neighbor girls, Leah the witch and Haley the spider.
Way too much going on for them to pay attention to the camera.

Cole and Leah.... sittin' in a tree... haha sorry that popped into my head as I typed their names. And I digress...
Oh boys will be boys. At least he didn't pull his pants down first!
Kellen and I deep in a conversation most likely having to do with him staying with the group and not running ahead, no doubt. I swear this kid is 1 going on 8. His independence astonishes me... and scares the life out of me quite frankly sometimes.
My sweet sweets!!
The back of Kellen's coat says "Fire Department Chief"

This was Kellen's face every time he ran up a new driveway.

2 of our neighbors went all out this year and one decorated the entire inside of their house to look like a haunted mansion for everyone to walk through (brave, right?)and then there was a lit trail through the woods next door to the backyard "graveyard," fire pit for roasting marshmellows and making smores, and a carmel apple making table. The kids got to roll their apple in the sprinkles and then tied it up in a bag to take home.
Curly hotdog worms!
Pretzel sticks covered in icing with caramel covered marshmellows on the end.
Green colored cheese on pretzel sticks.
Cheese sticks with sliced almond.... eeewwwww!
Disgustingly hilarious and yummy too! Coy's and Carter's grandpa took all the kids on a hay ride at the end of the party, and it was the perfect way to get the kids excited to start trick-or-treating. Cole and Kellen were very excited, to say the least, about their costumes this year. Cole was the most handsome Doctor I've ever laid eyes on (stand down McDreamy!), and Kellen was the proudest Fire Chief. I figure this is the last year I will pick their costumes for them, so I wanted something that they could play dress up with and have it last longer than one night. Wow, do I sound like my mom or what?!
I love their candy bags that Justin's mom got them last year. They are a bat and a ghost and they glow in the dark. Super cool to an almost 2 year old (sigh) and 3 year old. Hell, I think they are cool too! Are these my children looking at the camera? Both of them? At the same time? And they are smiling? Both of them? At the same time? WOW. These are the pictures I cherish!
Yep, this is more like it. Cole making a goofy face instead of smiling and Kellen with his attention on something else.
