Summertime!

We have really been enjoying the summer, and spend lots of time at the pool and playing outside. When we are cooling off inside the boys are really in to playing with their toy cars/airplanes/trains/etc by lining them all up and having races, or pretending that someone needs rescuing or towing or a trip to the hospital. The last month or so they have really started playing well together by themselves. I am able to go upstairs and do laundry or get some chores done and they will entertain each other for a good hour or so. They rarely fight with each other, but when they do it is usually because Cole won't let Kellen play with a toy he has or Kellen whacking Cole because he didn't get said toy :) I try to let them work out their problems on their own some of the time so they will learn, but definately have spent some time have "talks" about playing nicely and sharing toys and cherishing the relationship they have. They are so lucky to have each other, and I want them to appreciate it. One of their favorite games to play is Hide-and-Seek. They have been "playing" this for over a year now, but just recently have they started to understand the concept of actually hiding somewhere that isn't in the middle of the room or standing against a wall. It's so funny how kids think that if THEIR eyes are closed, YOU can't see them :) Here's a couple pictures of them playing. Nala kind of spoiled the fun because she would stand right next to the one that was hiding so they caught on to that pretty quick!

This was when it was my turn to find them. I love that they always hide together when someone else is looking for them.

We've also had several playdates at the pool this year. I've been horrible about taking my camera to the pool, but here are a couple of my good friend Courtney's kids, Gavin and Emerson having snacks with the boys.
