Thank Goodness for Spring

We couldn't be more excited that spring is finally here. I feel like this was the longest winter ever. Since the weather has warmed up, the boys and I have spent a lot of time walking the neighborhood to watch all the trucks and tractors building houses. To a 1 yr old and 2 yr boy, there isn't anything cooler than a great big tractor moving dirt around. But they aren't just tractors, they have names and they have specific jobs. Don't you dare confuse an excavator with a back hoe because Cole will surely correct you. What's cooler than watching big tractors (and even sneaking a climb on one!)? Well obviously it's throwing big rocks into a muddy water pit while watching big tractors. The boys' favorite thing to do is to throw rocks into the water hole the builders made next to a road they are making. Cole says "Me throw rocks in the big water." (Yea we're working on the pronoun issue:) ) Here are a few pictures of "throwing rocks in the big water" when Justin was able to come along.

A couple weeks ago we went to a local pond so Cole and Justin could go fishing. Fishing is Justin's newest obsession, so naturally he was hoping Cole would love it. We all had a good time and Cole really enjoyed the special attention he got from his Daddy. Justin was insistent that Cole touch the fish, and although he was pretty hesitant at first, he quickly decided that throwing the fish back in the water after they caught them was pretty darn cool.

Kellen, big surprise, did not hesitate in the least to touch the fish.

We've had 2 great visits from my cousin Kristen, and it's obvious the boys really didn't like her much at all (wink).




Kellen's 15 month well check up was about a week ago and he weighed 23lbs, which is 30th percentile and he was 65th percentile for height. I just can't believe how much he has grown up in the last couple weeks. All of a sudden he says so many words and has such a personality. He runs and climbs and has no fear. He surprises me every day with something new. I know I said this about every stage of Cole's life, but the 14-20 month range is definately, without a doubt, my favorite age. You can still get away with saying they are a baby, but they run and play and communicate with you and are so much fun! The only issue we talked about with our pediatrician is his eczema. It really could be so much worse, I know, and it really doesn't seem to bother him at all but he has had a few flare ups lately. We're trying a few new things and hopefully we'll get things back to normal. He's still a good eater, although his appetite has definately slowed down and he's become a little more picky. He is really starting to interact with books and puzzles and loves to point and tell you what things are, like birds, airplanes, and trucks for example. He's still a belly sleeper, a Mommy's boy, and a good napper. We love you K.
